Macon Behavioral Health Treatment Center Creates Student Council for Patients

Macon Behavioral Health Treatment Center, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, has organized a student council government to provide its patients with a voice for addressing issues and concerns they may have regarding the hospital, and their individual experiences while they are undergoing treatment there. The council, which is made up of Macon patients, actively speaks for and represents the patients when it meets with CEO Nashon McPherson on a monthly basis.

“As we strive to provide the best behavioral healthcare for children and adolescents in our region, it is important that their needs and concerns are addressed, directly and first-hand,” said McPherson. “The implementation of the student council creates a dialogue between hospital staff and administration and the people we are serving; this two-way discussion will benefit all of us here at Macon.”
